Verdict
Our Verdict on the MS
Baruch's Master of Science in Accountancy is the school's most popular accountancy graduate program, and waivers can shrink your degree to 30 credits. Its Information Analytics track adds a data core and may carry a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) designation.
This Master of Science in Accountancy sits in the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy at the Zicklin School of Business, CUNY Baruch College in New York City. You'll attend in person. You'll choose from three tracks: General, Information Analytics (non-STEM) and Information Analytics (STEM).
Fit
Who It Fits
- Baruch undergraduates: the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and MS path toward becoming a certified public accountant (CPA) lets you finish the master's in one year.
- Students with an accounting degree who want the STEM track: it asks for a bachelor's in accounting from a regionally accredited U.S. university earned within five years.
- Career builders in tax: ACC 9861 and TAX 9878 cover individual and entity taxation.
- Data-minded accountants: the analytics electives include data mining, visualization and natural language processing.
- Students who want a specialist degree: the program calls itself more specialized than the MBA Accountancy.
