Verdict

Our Verdict on the MS

UNT's Audit and Data Analytics concentration is a full-time cohort designated as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). It's built around External Auditing, IT Auditing and a required Professional Exam Competency course. In spring busy season, you keep earning credit through compressed graduate classes.

The Department of Accounting in the G. Brint Ryan College of Business offers this Master of Science in Accounting at the University of North Texas. You'll take it on the Denton campus as a full-time cohort. Most of your classes meet during the day.

Fit

Who It Fits

  • If you're an aspiring auditor, your set sequence opens with Seminar in Internal Auditing, External Auditing and IT Auditing.
  • Candidates for the certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA), certified internal auditor (CIA) or certified information systems auditor (CISA) exams. The department says it prepares students for all four.
  • If you're a busy-season intern, you can earn 9 semester credits in spring while you're away for the first half of the term.
  • If you're a data-minded accountant, you'll get Alteryx, Tableau and data visualization in your toolkit.
