How We Chose These Programs
We looked at every Florida accounting degree from a business school, whether you'd attend on campus, hybrid or online. A program gets accreditation credit only when it's listed by name. The lists come from AACSB, the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) or the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
Where we cite federal data, it comes from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the database every college reports to. We score each degree level on its own, weighing price, what graduates earn, how many finish, schedule flexibility, track record, accreditation and reputation.
If you want the weights, you'll find them on the methodology page.

Central Florida lists $212.28 for residents against $891.07 for non-residents. Over 120 credits, you'd pay $25,342.80 at South Florida and $25,473.60 at Central Florida as a resident.
South Florida's figures come from the general undergraduate tuition schedule, so confirm the accounting program's current rate and fees before you budget. If you're heading to a master's, the University of Florida lists $18,106 in tuition and fees for residents (2026-2027 rates). Florida International lists about $36,000 in tuition for Florida residents.
Campus, Hybrid and Distance Formats
Most of the programs are on campus, and you'll get strong employer ties. Florida State has a professional advisory board and student groups including Beta Alpha Psi. The University of Florida has a 3/2 option that earns you a bachelor's and master's in five years.
Central Florida's bachelor's builds an Accounting Analytics course into the major and strongly encourages an internship. Florida Atlantic's bachelor's includes an Accounting Scholars Program for top students.
If you work, look at the others. South Florida's bachelor's is built for working professionals. It begins at the junior level if you're a transfer student with 60 or more credit hours. Florida Atlantic's Executive Master of Accounting can be taken online, hybrid or on campus, with once-a-month Saturday lectures if you want them.
Florida International's master's runs 10 months, with Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions on campus and a fall start. You can compare more options on the working adults list.
Master's Programs and the Florida CPA Route
Florida's CPA license calls for 30 credit hours beyond the bachelor's, so a master's is a common next step. You can finish the University of Florida's Master of Accounting in one year, with a summer or fall start, and you can pick Auditing, Tax or no concentration.
It runs in 7-week modules with three starts a year. Florida International's master's finishes in 10 months, with Taxation and Audit and Data Intelligence specializations.
Florida Atlantic welcomes you even if you don't have an accounting or business degree. You'll add 2 to 5 courses to the schedule, and you can choose Professional Accounting, Forensic Accounting or Tax concentrations. Central Florida's combined bachelor's and master's curriculum also meets the educational eligibility criteria for the Florida CPA license. Read the guide to CPA requirements and the Florida Board of Accountancy page before you pick.
